Small Medium Enterprise is supported by Information Communication technology

For marketing products

Small Medium Enterprises  have important role to support economy in Global Financial crisis in Indonesia.
Their economy is stabile, although macro economy is not stabile, followed by
big company collapse and jobless employers. Because of the big role for economy
progressing in Indonesia, The Asia Pacific Cisco System is interested in making
Information Communication Technology education to Small Medium Enterprise. The
USAID invested 25 millions dollars to support the program. They will use ICT
for communication business support and marketing strategies. Crisis economy
global makes demand decrease almost 50 %. Through ICT, expect will enlarge their
knowledge and marketing strategies.


100 students from difference Universities in Indonesia will take part to educate
them. The 100 student will be trained before implementing this program. They
should create innovation and analysis road map how to make progress Small Medium
Enterprise by using ICT.

We give few opinions that optimize SME to use ICT for business, have to face
many challenges and have to implement step by step. We should have strategies
to educate them. The strategies like below,

1.Almost 50 % Small Medium Enterprise never operate computer as tool for business.
We have to educate them with simple methods and simple language, because Indonesia
computer use English language.

2.Do not make them afraid, give enjoy moment when we are teaching them.

3.Give Internet overview to open learning so that can motivate them to learn
Computer.

4.Give motivation that learning Internet Technology can help them to market
their products globally.

5.Give information, varieties communication can be used through Internet, as
chatting, email and create blog and how to post information to the blog.

6.Give motivation to them in order to up date their blog. And last but not least,
give them few Internet Marketing strategies.

7.Give them information that marketing products or business on the net must
face competitors as promotion off line so that they do not feel desperate when
failed.

Travel entrepreneurs take part in Majapahit Travel Fair


Tourism becomes important role to empower traveling entrepreneurs. To promote Indonesia tourism in Indonesia, government with stake holders held Majapahit Travel
Fair in Surabaya city east java. There are few program that plan to promo,

Majapahit Travel Fair plan to be hold every year in order to motivate traveling
entrepreneurs, tourism industry so that people will appreciate tourism. Finally,

East Java Government empower Batik designer


Batik is traditional culture from Indonesia that so popular around the world.

Indonesia has million archipelagos with different culture and language so that
you find different batik design in every region. The performance of batik design
follows culture philosophy of the region. It will look different between Pekalongan
batik, Yogya Batik, Sidoarjo Batik, Madura Batik and others.

Traditional culture to design batik using canting, seem not to be interested in by young generations, so that there is no regeneration. Lack of human resources to design batik, make batik production decrease, although few foreigners seem interested in learning batik designing.


Empower Batik entrepreneurs, government try to build village center (Kampoeng Batik). Kampoeng Batik called, specific region that has activity: design batik, showroom, promotion and transaction.
The Kampoeng Batik or center of Batik Home Industry had been built at Surabaya as capital city of East Java and Sidoarjo as popular with volcano mud.

Function government here, giving stimulant, capital, motivation, help to promote
batik product and give information how to get personal right (patent) from Government.

The only way to reduce poverty in sustainable way is to promote economic growth, through wealth and employment creation. In Developing Country, SMEs are major source of income, a breeding ground for entrepreneurs and provider of employment.
Growth of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Developing Country are significant, we can see SMEs data improvement below,

1.Bangladesh 177,000 of SMEs with total employment 80 %

2.Indonesia 41,000,000 of SMEs with total employment 70 %

3.Philippines 806,000 of SMEs with total employment 70 %
Indonesia have more Small Medium Enterprises than others countries, we can make conclusion that Indonesian people have more entrepreneurship mindset than others countries. Unluckily SMEs seldom use Information Communication Technology (ICT) , because of lack infrastructures, high cost Internet connection and lack of skill on ICT use. People around the world have been knowing that ICT is important to SMEs, because:

1.Reduces cost of travel, materials, marketing & distribution, enhanced supply chain management, and improved internal function.

2.Market benefits. Greater reach, brand building and awareness and improved customer service.

3.Competitive benefits. 24/7 business hours and speed of transaction.
The ICT have many opportunities and challenges to SMEs, but we must overcome the challenges, as
Internal barriers, management and skills. 70 % of SME in Indonesia are lack of skill on ICT use. Limited telecommunication lines, make high cost slow connections. Beside problems above, culture of Indonesian as, culture to use credit card, shopping habits and trust / security, make SMEs are reluctant to use ICT.
